Root Canal Treatment

Treating the inside of a tooth in order to preserve it.

What is it

When the nerve tissue (pulp) inside a tooth is infected or inflamed, a root canal removes it, cleans and disinfects the canals, and seals them.

Who is it for

Teeth with deep decay, cracks, a severe or lingering toothache, strong sensitivity to heat, or swelling near the tooth.

What to expect

The treatment is carried out under local anaesthesia, in one or more visits. Afterwards the tooth is usually restored with a filling or a crown for protection.

Aftercare

Mild tenderness for a few days is common. Contact the clinic if pain or swelling increases.

General information only. Every case is different, so a personal examination is needed before any treatment.
