What is it
A filling repairs a tooth after decay or minor damage. The decayed part is removed and the tooth is rebuilt with a tooth-coloured material.
Who is it for
Cavities, chipped teeth and worn areas, ideally treated early to keep as much natural tooth as possible.
What to expect
Local anaesthesia, removal of the decay, then shaping and hardening of the filling, usually in one visit.
Aftercare
Wait until the numbness has worn off before eating, and keep up good brushing and flossing.
